Join Us for A stunning Strawberry Walk
Your day begins at the Wind Energy Museum at 10am with refreshments before setting off at 10.30am. This is an ideal excursion for people enjoying the Broads by boat. We are a couple of minutes walk from the riverbank near Potter Heigham on the River Thurne.
Your guide will lead you off along the riverbank where there is normally a variety of birds to be seen and heard, boats, animals and maybe a wherry will come past too.
The river winds its way along to the picturesque village of Thurne where the beautiful Thurne Mill has been part of the landscape for almost 200 years.
Our marshman will be there to welcome us and, wind permitting, will have Thurne Mill turning majestically in the wind. You'll learn all about its history and have a look inside.
There will be a chance to stop off at the Ramblers gift shop for refreshments or souvenirs before you head off again through Dewbeck Woods and return to the museum.
A delicious Strawberry Cream Tea awaits you and you can finish off your day relaxing in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings the museum has to offer.
